Until 1996, the barn was used for housing cattle and sheep but was transformed in 1997 to make two self catering holiday cottages. "Mallard" is ideal for couples or groups of up to four people, "Shelduck" accommodates up to seven people. Both cottages are also ideal for couples, whilst extended families, may take both self catering cottages for a special reunion of up to 10 people.
Both self catering cottages look out across the gravel farmyard to beautiful countryside to the south. We are located out of earshot of main roads but you may hear the occasional tractor, the postman or birdsong, and at night there is often a view of the night sky seldom seen in built-up areas. A ten-minute walk will bring you to the nearest bus stop, and a variety of village pubs and shops are within a couple of miles.
Downstairs there is one double bedroom, one bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. Upstairs is the living room, a combined kitchen and dining area and another toilet.
Shelduck has four bedrooms and can sleep upto six people but is equally cosy for couples and smaller families. The bathroom with bath/shower and toilet is downstairs, together with three bedrooms: two single rooms, one twin which can link together to make 6ft kingsize . Upstairs is the double bedroom with its own shower/toilet, and a combined kitchen, dining and living room.
